I think if you remove the compressor you will see the bracket wraps around to the oil filter side of the engine block. There is likely to be a bolt or two securing the bracket to the engine block on this side.

You may not see it from above, have a look from below the engine.

Bingo! The mystery bolt was exactly where you said it would be. Got it out, removed the A/C bracket, and now I can get at the head bolt. I thank you, and the wife, who has had to listen to me for the last couple of days, thanks you also.
Now if I can just get my fat butt up of this concrete floor.
